27-28 Weeks

27 weeks
Hello 3rd Trimester!! I had my monthly MD visit this week which included the glucose test to test for gestational diabetes. My Dr. said everything is looking good and measuring good. Connor's heartbeat was 153 BPM. Still so neat to hear it :) I won't find out results of glucose test until my next visit. Now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, I will go every 2 weeks for check up instead of every 4 weeks. I have my 4D ultrasound this coming up week which Brad and I are really excited about! My mom and mother in law are coming too so they will get to see Connor! Can't wait to see what he looks like! I'm still feeling really good. Went to the gym 5 times this week which is a first! I had been going any where from 1 time to 3 times a week but after getting on the scale at my last MD appt, I think I regained my motivation to continue trying to stay as fit and active as I can! Connor has been very active over the past few weeks. Seems like he is constantly moving, kicking, punching, flipping, and whatever else he does in my belly! Brad says he feels him a lot at night when I'm asleep and he puts his arm around my belly. So neat!

28 Weeks

I'm starting to get overwhelmed with the nursery and having it ready for Connor's arrival. Everything is on order at this point but nothing has come in so we really haven't done anything to the nursery. We picked out paint for one blue wall I want to do that the window is on. Sheet and blanket are on order and should be here in a few weeks. Furniture should be ready end of this week or next! Will have to paint it when it gets here. Need to buy curtains. Need to figure out wall decor. Need to figure out what to put on book shelf once it gets here. And the list goes on and on. I just hope my energy lasts for another month or so that I can finish the nursery comfortably!

Invitations went out this week for my first baby shower! So excited! It is going to be in Meridian on Nov 4. My best friend, Lauren, is flying in for her cousins wedding that weekend so we planned the shower around her so she could be there. My sister has pretty much planned the entire shower. She loves any planning that involves her creativity so I can't wait to see everything come together. The invitations are adorable that she designed. She has set the theme for "Everything C" for Connor :) I haven't seen my friends and family in a while so I'm excited to see everyone and catch up as well!

Also this past weekend we celebrated with my sister, Jennifer, and Cade at their Engagement Party!   They are getting married April 13, 2013! They had a really good party filled with close friends. Lots of good food was there, too! Here are some pics from their Engagement Party.

25 Weeks

I have been busy getting Connor's nursery planned out the way I want it this week. Brad put up the crib (then, without complaining one bit, had to take it back down because I decided I wanted to change the nursery to his office instead. I have such an awesome husband!) So, now that we swapped the nursery for the office, the crib is back up and looks so good in the new room with the tall ceilings and arched window. I have lucked out again and borrowing my co-worker/friend's son's bedding which I am absolutely in love with! Jen and I found what I was looking for in Jackson a couple weekends ago, but I just couldn't pay what they wanted for it. (of course, I had to pick out the silk one). So, Cindy is letting me borrow her son, Jackson's, bedding which is almost exactly like the one I picked out! Blue and cream colored silk bumper, bed skirt, and blanket. I have order the striped sheet and blanket  from Nursery Rhymes in Jackson I had picked out and it should be here within a few weeks. I can't wait to get it all put together!
Bedding without the mattress and sheet

Love this iron crib! Nola is not so sure about it :)
I practiced with chalk paint again this weekend since that is what I plan to use on the nursery furniture once it is ready. I'm trying to get all of the practice I can! I painted a book shelf Brad has had for years. It was dark brown before I painted it and now it is a bluish-green "Duck Egg" color. It took all day to complete but I love the finished product!

I also decorated our front door for fall! I love the cool, fall weather we are having right now. Pumpkins and mums are what I love most about fall. I will soon be pulling out all of my pumpkin recipes to start baking! I monogrammed the "C" on the white pumpkin and made my burlap wreath with felt flowers. I actually made 2 burlap wreaths this year. The first one I made only had a "C" on it. I ended up selling that one and make the burlap tie wreath with flowers.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Size of Baby: The size of a eggplant about 13.6 inches and 1.9 pounds

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 14 pounds since my last MD appt.

Maternity Clothes: Bought my first long sleeve solid maternity tee this week. It's pretty comfy!

Gender: It's a BOY!

Movement: Connor is a very active little boy :)

Sleep: Back pain is beginning to make sleep difficult. I toss and turn A LOT!

Cravings/Aversions: I finally had a 2 Brothers Burger and it was sooo delish!! Everything is giving me heart burn and indigestion, though :(

Emotions: With my body changing, I am much more conscious about what I look like. I know is Connor growning, but its definitely not easy seeing my belly, hips, arms, and chubby face grow!

What I Miss: My energy...haven't made it to the gym in a week or so because I'm beginning to be exhausted again after work.

Symptoms: Mid back pain and indigestion. Can't seem to eat enough Tums!

What I'm Looking Forward To: Getting all of Connor's bedding in and put together!

26 Weeks

Connor seems to have doubled in size this week because my belly has grown! He has become a little kick boxer too..always moving around, punching and kicking me! :) This weekend was our annual Talladega trip. We had a blast with Mr. Curtis and Mrs. Daphne, camping out in the RV, grilling and watching football. If only the weather would have been better...  Brad, Nola, and I got there Friday night. We chilled out most of the night and I went to bed early. "To bed", I mean the top bunk of the RV. You can only imagine how stiff I woke up Saturday morning with my back already hurting from the past week. I woke up, did my stretches, took a hot shower, and then felt much better. Saturday, we shopped around for t shirts, hats, etc. It was funny to see Brad looking at all of the baby Nascar stuff. After shopping, we went to the truck races. The weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, sunny with a breeze. By the end of the race, however, we were all frozen! We hadn't prepared for the weather to drop on Saturday evening since it was so beautiful earlier in the day. On Sunday, we all bundled up because it was only supposed to get up to 60 degrees plus 13 MPH North winds!  Since our seats are at the very top of the stadium, we knew we would be in for some wind. I never expected it to get as cold as it did though! I don't think it even got up to 60 degrees. Thank goodness we all had our snow jackets, gloves, and hats because it was COLD! The race was pretty good....as good as a race can be :) There were 2-3 small car wrecks, but then on the very last lap there was a 20 car pile up. Pretty sad that wrecks are the excitement of Nascar! (Thankfully, no one was hurt.) Brad and I surprised Mr. Curtis with Pitt passes for Sunday's race so we got up early and went to the pitt before the race began Sunday. Brad, nor his dad had ever been down there before so they were both excited about the tickets and being able to see what all goes on in the pitt. Overall, we had a really good time "Snow skiing at Talladega" and can't wait for next year!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 26 weeks

Size of Baby: The size of a cucumber about 15 inches and 2.2 pounds

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 14 pounds..still haven't updated since I have not been to MD. I know I have gained with Connor growing like he is though!

Maternity Clothes: Still wearing scrub pants, but my tops are too small. Wearing basic t's that I went up a size in most of the time.

Gender: It's a BOY!

Movement: Connor is still moving around a lot.

Sleep: Definitely didn't sleep good this weekend because we were in the RV and my back was killing me. Once I got in my own bed on Sunday night though, I slept like a rock!

Cravings/Aversions: Beginning to crave sweets...not good! Have tried so hard not to eat them, but I can't turn down cookies, cakes, brownies, doughnuts.... I better get my booty back in the gym!

Emotions: Suppose I'm feeling ok...no crazy outburst, or overly emotionally yet.

What I Miss: Working out...need energy and motivation!!

Symptoms: My ribs are beginning to hurt as Connor grows and my ribs expand. Also, my left rib area gets numb feeling sometimes. I'm assuming he is pushing on a nerve or its just poor circulation. Back pain is still a constant.

What I'm Looking Forward To: My application says that I have 13 weeks left before Connor gets here! Wow!!! Time is flying by! I better get this nursery finished :)
